Why choose CLEC classes?
We have knowledgeable instructors with many years of experience in the field. Many who work in the industry themselves, which is a great network opportunity and way to help get placed in a job. Our location is spacious, central and close to major expressways (I53 & I90). CLEC pass rate is ~ 90%*.
How long are the classes and how many times a week?
The classes are typically 10-12 weeks long and meet once a week.
Are classes only held at night?
- Yes, 6-9pm. We try to help at night so you do not have to miss work.
- NEC Suburban Licensing: Monday/Wednesday nights.
- Chicago Code Classes: Tuesday/Thursday nights
When is the Elgin Test dates?
Usually second Saturday of each month (View Elgin Test tab above)
How long does it take to get the results back from the Elgin Test?
About two weeks after taking the test. You will be notified by phone.

When do I have to renew my license and with who?
Elgin License is renewed every year with the city of Elgin. Renewal fee each year of $25.00.
What forms of payments are accepted?
Cash, credit cards, debit cards, checks, and PayPal
Are classes offered in any other language?
Classes are offer in Polish for the NEC. No other languages at this time.
What’s the refund policy?
The refund process begins after the Refund Policy period is over in the corresponding section. Tuition refund will be issued to eligible students based upon the effective date of withdrawal, which is determined by the date you formally notify the CLEC by withdrawing in person, phone, email or mail. Failure to attend class does not constitute withdrawal. To receive a full refund, you must withdraw within the second week of class after the course start date. It is your responsibility to be aware of these refund dates. CLEC reserves the right to determine method of refund. If CLEC cancels section, you will receive a full refund.
The following information serves as a guideline:
- 80% after week 1
- 50% week 2
- No refunds after week 2
- *Students may retake the class for a discounted rate only if they join the following semester and also up to instructor’s discretion.
